Here’s an update on Rico’s Wish , that you’ve been reading about for the past several months on these pages .   Saturday May 3rd was a miserable day weather wise , rain, rain and more rain  But it didn’t dampen the spirits of those family members and club members and friends who gathered to “ Blast Off Rico over the Skeet & Trap fields that he loved so much “ Around 20  family members , some from out of state and 10 or so club members and friends jammed into the ALGC Birdhouse due to the wet weather . We were forced to shoot the majority of the day off the porch of the birdhouse , but we racgot a couple of lulls in the downpour to do a 21 gun salute of sorts . Many said it was the most interesting wake they had ever been too . 

 Many of us  then moved to the pavilion to attend the “Cinco De Mayo “ that Rico was instrumental in starting as an annual event at ALGC. Many  "Margaritas “ were hoisted in Rico’s honor , thanks to Doug Saris & Lynn Zielaskiewicz.

           Thanks to the board of trustees for going along with Rico’s Wish , and to the Skeet & Trap directors  who helped all those who wanted to shoot do it safely.

RICO’S WISH 

        Saturday May 3rd 2025, we will converge on the ALGC Skeet and Trap fields to have a blast , literally .

        Former member, trustee , XO , officer and friend Rich (Rico) Brickley passed away on 1/1/2025 . His wish was that his cremains be loaded into 12 gauge shotgun shells and be shot off over the clay fields that he loved so much.

       So his family has arranged this and to have his family and friends fulfill his wish. 

       We will commence @ 12 noon at the Skeet and Trap fields of ALGC. If you knew Rich (Rico ) and wish to participate come on out and bring your shotgun. If you don’t own one we can more than likely put one in your hands . 

         That same day @ 4PM ALGC will have our Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration . Fun, food and laughter , Mexican style .Look in the newsletter  for a sign up sheet for this fun filled event. Rico was one of the founders of this event and it was near and dear to his heart.
